Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
It was shaping up to be a day like most other days. I’d had some quick calls with a couple of clients, completed one longer consult, done some paperwork, and was off to meet a client to help her decide something that, on its face, sounded all too easy.
-----In reality, however, that decision was anything but simple for my client and was prevent her from even thinking about the rest of her exciting remodel project. So, what sort of decision had the power to almost paralyze? Turns out, she needed to select which tile would go into her soon-to-be, beautiful new master bathroom. She’d already been to the showrooms and plowed through dozens of options. When she called, the frustration in her voice was almost painful as I heard her say, “Nina – there're so many! I can’t decide. So many samples look good.” With that, I heard myself saying, “Not to worry. I’ll go down to the showroom and narrow the choices to a few that I feel would fit your taste and remodel goals.” The sigh of relief that I heard was almost palpable.
-----With my client’s final tile selection made later that afternoon, she was able to move on to decisions for the rest of the remodel, keeping the project schedule and budget on track. We were both very happy. Making good decisions is key to the success of any architectural design project. If you sense frustration happening with your own project, consider giving me a call. Together we can telescope its smooth completion, preserving your time to enjoy and savor your beautiful new spaces.
