New books, section celebrate diversity

A new section on our website highlights Black history books, books written by Black authors and other books celebrating diversity.
We have been converting several of these books from the old braille code to the new, as well as adding additional titles.

We added four new board books for ages 0-5: I Like Myself, I Look Up to Malala Yousafzai, Whose Knees Are These, and Peekaboo Morning.

These new titles are also included in the 2021 print catalog. Check our online catalog throughout the year for additional titles and more UEB conversions.

Visit Seedlings virtually this fall

Instead of holding an open house at our Livonia, MI facility this fall, we are inviting everyone to watch the six-minute video Under the Radar Michigan did on Seedlings.

See kids read and write braille. Watch as we make their books. Do it all virtually from your home at your convenience.

Under the Radar Michigan is an Emmy Award-winning PBS-TV show that features the cool people and places of Michigan.
2021 catalog redesigned with you in mind

Seedlings' director named Esteemed Woman of Michigan

Seedlings' founder and director, Debra Bonde, is being honored as an Esteemed Woman of
Michigan on Sept. 21.

Each year, The Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic in Pontiac, MI recognizes women who have made extraordinary contributions through personal, volunteer and professional avenues. These are women of diverse backgrounds and professions that inspire other women to tackle challenges and make a positive difference.

Debra is one of 14 women being honored for 2020.
This year, the event is being held online. For more information, visit the Esteemed Women of Michigan Facebook Page.

All proceeds support the care provided by GBCHC, a free medical clinic for those without access to health care.
