December 2024/January 2025

AC4C Roundtable

AC4C wishes you a safe and healthy holiday season!

As is the tradition the past couple of years during the last work retreat of the year, the Project Coordinator shared a little jingle for celebrating AC4C. Here is this year's:

Rockin' around - AC4C

At the Quarterly Work Retreat

Trainings given everywhere you see

Every member wants a peak

Rockin' around AC4C

Let the New Year’s work begin

Later we'll have Day on the Hill

And we'll do some advocating

You will get an inspirational feeling when you help

Voices being heard, let's BE courageous

WALK the halls of the Capitol bravely

Rockin' around our Legislative Forum

Have a happy Early day

Everyone hopeful we’ll have our room

In the new old-fashioned way

You will get an inspirational feeling when you help

Voices being heard, let's BE courageous

WALK the halls of the Capitol bravely

Rockin' around – AC4C

Have a happy holiday

Everyone resting merrily

In the New, Old-Fashioned Way!

Substance Use Prevention

Day on the Hill

Thursday, February 13

AC4C will once again be hosting the Day on the Hill for Youth Substance Use Prevention. The AC4C Day on the Hill Toolkit about the event will be coming out by email soon!

We will again be having the youth training and lunch at the Iowa State Historical Building and then walking a short ways to the Capitol. The lunch will be the same as last year in the Historical Building, catered by Baratta's (an Italian restaurant). We'll have bowtie pasta with Alfredo sauce, tossed romaine salad with ranch and croutons on the side, bread sticks, and bakery chocolate chip cookies for $11 per person. There is a gluten free option of Penne pasta with white sauce. We have refillable AC4C Youth water bottles for the students again. More information about exactly how to pay for the meal ahead will come out soon, but check or Venmo to AC4C will work.
