News from NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck
Our Newest Staff Member
You may have seen an article in the paper or encountered him out in the community already, but we wanted to take a moment to formally introduce our newest staff member to you all. N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck County is proud to introduce Adam Formella as the newest member of their staff. Adam will be serving as Currituck’s Agriculture Agent. In this role, he will oversee programs related to all aspects of agriculture in Currituck County. Adam will also serve as the county’s pesticide education coordinator.

Adam is from Smithfield, Virginia. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a Master’s in Entomology. Adam’s graduate work focused on the ecology of the brown marmorated stink bug on vegetable farms and in wooded environments.

In today’s world, organizations, colleges and employers are all prioritizing prospective applicants that demonstrate a capability in life skills instead of purely academic achievement. So what are these skills and how can you help your child acquire and master these important tools and competencies?
