The North Bay Science Discovery Day, which is in its 9th year, will be held on Saturday, October 26, at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. It is an all-day free event geared toward 4th through 8th graders and their families. Local businesses and educational groups provide over 100 hands-on science exhibits designed to inspire and encourage our youth in science.

This year over 15,000 are expected to attend. Longtime popular exhibitors include Keysight, Medtronic, Kaiser, SRJC, Viavi, and numerous others.

There are opportunities for you or your business to an exhibit and/or a sponsor. Check the website " Northbayscience.org " For sponsor information, contact Don Pierce at (415) 301-0030." For exhibitor information contact Lyman Black .

RETURNING EXHIBITOR & SPONSOR

Viavi Solutions ( viavisolutions.com ) is a global leader in developing advanced optical thin film coatings for applications spanning aerospace, consumer electronics, medical devices, security sensors, and more. They have been an excellent exhibitor and core sponsor every year. The equipment and materials Viavi displays allow guests to explore light in the visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectra. From thermal imaging to gaming devices to color shifting pigments, the whole family can experience how thin film coatings are a part of everyday life.
NEW EXHIBITOR

NorCal Bats , located in Davis, California, was one of our newest exhibitors and was one of the most popular.  NorCal Bats are committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of bats and educating the public on the benefits of bats.  As most people know, bats eat lots and lots of insects, but did you also know that bats are great indicators of clean water in the area.

Their exhibit was a big hit at the NBSDD.  The biggest draw was the live bats on display.  Who doesn’t like to see real live bats?  The kids could also make bat hats and learn how to make a bat house. With these attractions, NorCal bats was able to educate a large number kids and their parents on the benefits of bats.

Many thanks to our sponsors and partners! They are the reason the North Bay Science Discovery Day is free to all. The companies involved provide real evidence of future North Bay STEM jobs waiting for kids in their future.
