APPRECIATION RECEPTION AT THE BUCK INSTITUTE
"A Good Start to a New Year!"
The worst storm of the year did not prevent some faithful sponsors, partners, exhibitors, and volunteers from enjoying our APPRECIATION RECEPTION which has been held annually at the beautiful Buck Institute high in the hills of Novato. The power went out just as we were all leaving. We thank all of you for your continued appreciation and support of the North Bay Science Discovery Day. The short program shared stats and reflections of the October 2018 event with quality Q&A with the audience members.

The American Chemical Society, California Section, reminded us that UNESCO has proclaimed 2019 as the United Nations'
International Year of the Periodic Table (150th anniversary). The opening ceremony will be January 29, 2019, in Paris, and the US National Periodic Table Day is on February 7, 2019.
GIRLS
Keysight informed us of their "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" on February 13, 2019.
Volunteers are needed.
DRONES
Donald Laird is a delightful instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College. As the Department Chair of Computer Studies, he introduced drone training to the college. At our NBSDD he provides a quick drone presentation between his Mentos and Diet Cola shows. Amazing person!
Many thanks to our sponsors and partners! They are the reason the North Bay Science Discovery Day is free to all. The companies involved provide real evidence of future North Bay STEM jobs waiting for kids in their future.
