Using thermocouples for your mappings? Traditionally, yes … but you know there is way better at your fingertips!

Historically thermal mappings were performed using thermocouples – nice, safe …. but time consuming. Similarly, think about horse traction vehicles or landline phones – are they still used currently?
NOPE!!  May we afford to waste our time traveling in a diligence? Or to miss an important call while on the move? Obviously not … then why afford wasting our time during thermal validations?

Using real time data loggers instead of thermocouples gives you the same advantages as thermocouples but eliminates the burden of:
  • pre-calibrations
  • usage of feedthroughs, hence vacuum tests 
  • wrapping / unwrapping
  • power cables everywhere
  • security issues (using ladders or other engines to wrap a ware house in thermocouples)
  • difficulties to place the wires onto freeze dryer shelves, especially on the rear side

The Tc systems are still meant to survive – not all the applications are compatibles with the data logger systems … but the list is shrinking every day. An internal study proves that today 90 % of all the studies performed in thermal mappings and validations can be done using data loggers and the benefits may be tremendous.
