Reminder
The Post-Secondary Department would like to remind students that grades are due no later than 21 days after the completion of each semester. Students who have not submitted grades for the fall 2023 term or contacted our office to update on the status of their progress will have their living allowance suspended until grades are received and reviewed.
We would also like to remind students that if their program continues through the spring/summer 2024 term, they must reapply for funding before March 1st (if they have not already done so).

EcoAction Community Funding Program | |

Funding is available for new projects that engage Canadians and clearly demonstrate measurable, positive results related to the key Environmental Priority: Fresh Water.
Your project must address the following Priority Result:
Canadians contribute to improving freshwater quality through actions that reduce harmful substances in fresh water and/or restore and protect freshwater ecosystem health.
Preference will be given to applications that engage Indigenous Peoples, youth, and/or partner with small businesses. All applications must fully meet program requirements.

First Nations Baseline Assessment Program on Health and the Environment | |

The First Nations Baseline Assessment Program on Health and the Environment aims to support First Nations in assessing the baseline status of human health and the environment in their communities prior to the implementation of large scale industrial projects on their traditional territories. Projects that focus on intergenerational knowledge translation with Elders and youth are particularly welcomed.

Research and Knowledge Initiative | |

The call for proposals for the second phase of the Research and Knowledge Initiative is focused on applied research that includes or examines specific interventions and that contributes to solutions for addressing Canadian housing and infrastructure needs. Infrastructure Canada is particularly seeking proposals for research projects that investigate innovative and practical solutions – especially related to housing but may also address other infrastructure issues for communities – that respond to key concerns such as affordability, equity in access, and/or adaptability to changing needs, including climate change and demographic change.

Canadian OL Sage Doxtater Signs With UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks | |
Canadian offensive lineman Sage Doxtater has signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL.
The six-foot-seven, 317-pound blocker was selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the second round of the 2021 CFL Draft but used his extra year of NCAA eligibility to return to New Mexico State University.

'Life-changing': Oneida Laying Groundwork For New Water Supply Pipe | |
An Indigenous community near London, Ont., is close to approving the design of a pipeline that will bring fresh drinking water to residents who've been on a boil-water advisory for the past four years.
"This is life-changing infrastructure for our community," said Brandon Doxtator, a councillor with Oneida Nation of the Thames.

Ska-Nah-Doht Village Adding New Indigenous Learning Centre | |
As it celebrates its 50th birthday, Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum is growing, thanks, in part, to some federal help.
Along with a limited-use elevator to improve accessibility, construction began in the fall on a new Indigenous learning centre, a 185-square-metre (2,000-square-feet) hall with accessible washrooms, that is expected to be completed in March.

TORONTO — The Ontario government is providing financial relief for Indigenous peoples and communities by permanently waiving fees for death records and delayed registration of death for children who attended Indian Residential Schools. The province is also permanently eliminating fees for reclaiming a traditional Indigenous name.
“The tragic legacy of Indian Residential Schools continues to be a source of pain and suffering within Indigenous communities,” said Todd McCarthy, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery. “Our government is committed to advancing reconciliation and making it easier and more affordable for Indigenous people to access records and services.”

The Inter-Community Transit Line offers round trips from London to Sarnia seven (7) days a week, with three (3) daily trips during the week and two (2) daily trips on the weekend. With various pick-up and drop-off locations, the transit line allows passengers to travel between London, Komoka, Mount Brydges, Strathroy, and Sarnia.
