Go, Puppy Finn, Go!
Finn, right, with his sister, who also came from the Bradshaw Animal Shelter.
Puppy Finn's foster Brooke reports that he's doing great after his recent surgery to repair his back leg!

Thanks to your generous donations to TEAM Bradshaw's fundraiser, he was able to get this life-changing surgery and is recovering so well!

Finn came into Sacramento County's Bradshaw Animal Shelter clinging to life after apparently being hit by a car.

Thanks to TEAM, the shelter veterinary staff, his SSPA foster and current foster, donors like you and his amazing spirit, this boy has such a bright future ahead of him!

Foster Brooke said: "It's amazing how, despite all he's gone through in his short little life, he's still just happy to be here! He is the sweetest, sassiest, most cuddly boy!"

We're so happy he can now look forward to an amazing life without so much pain!

And we can’t thank you enough for all of your support for our community’s dogs most in need!

Watch videos of him before and after surgery on Instagram.
Happy Tails
Puppy Butters - now Benji - found his home this weekend!

This adorable guy caught many people's eyes, but ultimately landed a family with three generations to look after him!

During his meet-and-greet at his fosters' house, he showed that his favorite folks are children - immediately following his adoptive family's kids around and wanting to play.

Adopter Iratxe said on the way home, "We are very happy with Benji (previously Butters). Quick update: He does great in the car and is fantastic with kids 🥰"

Today, fosters Kalin and Omar received another update from Iratxe: "We are falling in love so much with this gentle soul."

Congratulations, Benji and family! We can't wait to hear more updates!
Cammy found her home!

It turns out this girl was home all along! Her fosters just couldn't give her up.

Foster Lisa said, "My husband and I talked and we would like to keep Cammy. She is a perfect fit for our family."

Another beautiful match made through fostering!

Thank you to her family for both fostering and adopting this precious girl, and congratulations Cammy!
These three super-adorable Stockton pups are among those who found their homes recently!

Clockwise from top: Tucker, Ace and adorable senior Claire went home with families of their very own.

A huge congratulations to all of these lucky pups and their adopters!

Merle

This adorable 3-year-old boy (look at those ears‼️) is looking for a patient and understanding foster or adopter to help him learn to trust and build confidence.

Mr. Winters

Hero

This stunning boy is looking for an experienced foster who will help him develop confidence and overcome fear.

Rosie

This beautiful girl is looking for a loving, patient and understanding family who can help build her confidence.

Q&A with volunteer Cheryl Bañuelos

How long have you been part of SSPA and what inspired you to be part of the team?
I’ve volunteered for the better part of nine years. It all began with our son bring home a red nose bully puppy named Tank. He was an amazing dog; not anything like we perceived a pit bull to be. I began taking Tank to Bad Rap in Oakland to learn about pit bulls in general and to train him. I was introduced to PB SOC/SSPA Founder Delyse, who was fostering Lucyblu, aka Starr, a little red nose bully that we were adopting as a companion for Tank. She was a big fan of Bad Rap and told me about the PB SOC (Pit Bull Socialization and Obedience Crew) program at Bradshaw shelter. At the time, they were dealing with a fighting ring that put 18 dogs in the shelter. After hearing the backstory, I wanted to help and quickly learned how passionate and amazingly hardworking Delyse and her crew were. It was always about the dogs - that was what inspired me the most.

What’s the best thing about being a member of #TeamSSPA?
The best things about SSPA are the people involved and the fact that they all truly care about each and every dog they take in. Also, no matter how little time you give, it's appreciated.

What moment during your time with SSPA is most memorable for you?
I’ll never forget the pups from the fighting ring: Big Mama, Walter, Odin, Katie, Vienna, and there are more whose names I've forgotten. My most memorable pup was Smoky. He was severely neglected and had cancer on his underside. He was an abused pup with a heart of gold, and giving him the time and love he deserved in his final days was heart-filling.
What do you hope to help SSPA accomplish in the future?
Presently, unfortunately, I have stepped away from volunteering due to health and family issues, but I 100% plan on returning to help SSPA. I really hope that a new shelter and a program that addresses the hard cases becomes a reality and an example of what can be done to help these pups, who are left scared through no fault of their own.

What is your favorite thing about your pets?
They put a smile on my face each and every day, and with all the BS in the world today, they keep me grounded on what’s important in life.

Any final thoughts?
If this was a review on SSPA and its founder Delyse, it would get five stars for the dedication, hard work and caring everyone in the organization possesses. It's all authentic, nothing phony here.

Adoptable Dogs in Foster
Princess

This little one is finally safe in foster after living on the streets for a while.

She's very sweet and is OK with other dogs.

She's looking for a special adopter who will continue to help her build confidence and work on her fear issues. Her person will need to be patient as she takes some time to acclimate to new people and handling.

A quiet home without young children would be best for her.

Ready to open your heart and home to this girl?! Fill out an adoption application.
Eli

This boy would love nothing more than to be a family’s beloved pet!

He has those head tilts down and has a perfect white stripe down his face!

He’s come so far from the terrified, shut-down pup we first met at the shelter. With positive reinforcement and two playful, confident female dogs, he’s flourishing every day!

He’s sweet, LOVES to play with the dogs in his foster home, and becomes your shadow once you’ve gained his trust. He also enjoys long walks and hikes.

Eli is hoping to find a forever home soon with a confident female dog and a loving, supportive family who will help him continue to come out of his shell! There’s not much more rewarding than that!

Oscar

This boy came to the shelter in bad shape. He was an outdoor dog, chained in a kennel his entire life.

With the help of our awesome SSPA team and his foster, he's developed more confidence and learned that life can be good.

Let us tell you - this boy is resilient! He had owners who didn't show him an ounce of compassion, but now he's found a way to trust and even show his silly side.

Understandably, he can take a bit to develop trust, but once he does, he's marvelous!

He's low maintenance, mellow and easy to please, and has successfully lived with cats and other dogs!

Ready to bring him home? Apply to adopt him.
Pancho

This senior boy - 9 years old - so deserves a forever home that will pamper and cherish him!

He walks slowly and just really wants a cushy place where he can cuddle and chill out safely.

He's currently hanging out with a marvelous foster, but would love a permanent home!

Can you help make his dream come true?! Fill out an adoption application.
Homer

This handsome dude is a volunteer favorite!

He takes a little time to warm up to people, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding family.

He could be paired with a well-matched female dog in his new home.

Once you gain his trust, he does zoomies and flops over for belly rubs!

Ready to bring him home?! Fill out an adoption application.
Levi

Chance

Take a chance on ... Chance!

This handsome fella is soft and sweet.

He’s also timid, and wants to be affectionate but will shy away.

He’s very gentle and mannerly and needs a family to show him that he is safe and loved.
