The First (!!) Big Island Book Fest is set for

Keauhou Shopping Center Courtyard - 11:00 to 3:00pm!

and the Keauhou Shopping Center -

it promises to be a great event for Hawaii authors and readers!

Four Speakers will also be on the program that day!

We continue to field a number of inquiries through our website from authors and about-to-be authors who are not quite ready for a website but need editors, book coaches, illustrators and book cover designers -- so we put together a Resource Page for folks in need of these author services. All of these folks can be depended on to deliver their services with great energy and are on the same mission we are - helping new authors on their successful writing journey!

Some are personal friends we have known for years (Jill Schmidt) and new friends (Laura Reid, Andrea Herrick) as well as new folks we have met while talking to authors.

The World of Co-Authoring!

Mark and I just finished reading Eruption, by Michael Crichton and James Patterson, our Book Club selection for August. In a brief review from Barnes and Nobel, “The biggest thriller of the year: A history making eruption is about to destroy the Big Island of Hawaii – but a secret held for decades by the US military is far more terrifying that any volcano.” Mark and I both enjoyed this book!

Very interesting reading a book by two bestselling authors! Michael Crichton, who wrote Jurassic Park and Twister, had a project that he had been researching for years – Michael Crichton passed away in 2008, and his wife, Sherri Crichton, had his notes and the partial unfinished manuscript – she recently chose James Patterson to complete this book for them – and thus Eruption made its’ debut this spring!

It turns out that Michael Crichton left some 80 [!!] unfinished manuscripts and his wife Sherri has been on the path to find co-writers that can finish other manuscripts in addition to this newly released book, Eruption.

Which led us to do a little research on other Two Author Books! Turns out there are quite a few in the market place --- check out this list of Two Author Books on goodreads website:
