Francesco Arezzo of Italy selected as 2025-2026 Rotary International President

Arezzo, a member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy, has been selected by the Board of Directors to become Rotary International’s president for 2025-26. Arezzo will become president on 1 July. The Board conducted a special session following the unexpected resignation of RI President-elect Mário César Martins de Camargo.

The Rotary Foundation

Thanks to everyone for the generosity during the 2024-25 Rotary year, you all really made Magic happen!. As we look to Unite for Good during the 2025-2026 year, we want to encourage Rotarians to think about using Rotary Direct so that you can plan your giving, it makes things so easy. Your DRFC Chair Russ Jones and Funding Chair Sue Goldsen are happy to discuss with you. We look forward to a great year so that we can Do More Good in the World!

July Rotary theme

Maternal and Child Health is one of our areas of focus.

Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.

We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation, all of which can be prevented.

How Rotary Makes Help Happen

Rotary provides education, immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother-to-infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed, and how to protect themselves and their children from disease.

Statements of purpose and goals

The Rotary Foundation improves the lives of mothers and their children by:

  • Reducing the mortality rate for children under the age of five
  • Reducing the maternal mortality rate
  • Improving access to essential medical services and trained health care providers for mothers and their children
  • Supporting studies related to maternal and child health
