ISTAT Member Completes 21,500 km Motorcycle Ride to Support Airlink

The latest issue of Jetrader magazine includes an article on ISTAT member Michael Weiss’ motorcycle journey through 21 countries. Weiss rode 21,500 km from Cape Town to London over three months to raise funds and awareness for Airlink through his #WheelsDown4Airlink campaign. Inspired by Airlink’s humanitarian work, he spent a year planning the route and preparing for challenging terrain. The trip brought border delays, difficult roads and tough conditions like fesh-fesh dust, but support from African biking communities and the mission behind the ride kept him going. Airlink leaders praised the effort, which helped expand visibility for their disaster-relief programs. Weiss says the journey strengthened his resilience and reinforced the value of breaking big goals into manageable steps.

Nominations Open for 2026 ISTAT Foundation Scholarships

Universities within the ISTAT Foundation’s University Network have been invited to submit their candidate nominations for consideration for the 2026 ISTAT Foundation Scholarship Program. The scholarship application portal is also open for students who have been nominated to apply for an ISTAT Foundation scholarship. For institutions not currently participating in the ISTAT Foundation University Network, they may request to join the network by completing this form.

Attend ISTAT Foundation Events at ISTAT Americas in March

The ISTAT Foundation is pleased to host its annual Golf Tournament and Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, 8 March 2026, during ISTAT Americas. The Pickleball Tournament will take place at the Barnes Tennis Center, and the Golf Tournament will take place at Maderas Golf Club. All skill levels are welcome! Spots are limited for both events, so don’t wait to add them to your conference registration. Learn more.

You must be registered for ISTAT Americas to attend these ISTAT Foundation events.

David, Anna, Lindsey and James completed the certification process in October. With this new addition, active IAP membership now stands at:

• 68 ISTAT Certified Appraisers
• 43 Appraiser Candidates

The IAP Exam Committee has confirmed the next round of exams will be held 6-7 May 2026. IAP members seeking to sit these exams must register no later than 6 February.

In January, there will be a formal email invitation for nominations for several positions on the IBG:

• One (1) Senior Appraiser on the Exams Committee
• Two (2) non-Appraiser Members of the IBG
