“My desire to understand how aircraft, airlines, leasing, finance, etc., work and how data can help us understand all that remains as strong as ever. I could not have imagined the people I would meet, the friends I would make, the places I would visit, the events I would attend and the experiences I would enjoy in the past 35 years. Every day has been fun (well, mostly). I simply wish I had known back in the 1970s that jobs and careers like these existed, but I’m grateful that I took that career change risk in 1990, which lead me to where I am today.”

A Decade of Support

IAP Continuing Education

The ISTAT Appraisers Program (IAP) conducted a successful Continuing Education (ConEd) Session in Prague on 5 October with members attending both in person and via Zoom.

The topics that the presentations covered included:

• An interactive ethics briefing led by legal counsel
• A discussion on production and converted units in the widebody freighter market
• A popular roundtable discussion on industry and appraiser program issues. 

October Exams

The IAP held Appraiser and Senior Appraiser exams 14-16 October in Reston, Virginia; London; Bangalore, India; and Hong Kong. We thank the IAP Board of Governors (IBG) Exams Committee for their thoughtful preparation of the final papers.

Accreditation 

IAP member accreditation scores will be updated and refreshed during October. Members are encouraged to send any outstanding updates to the IAP executive director before the end of the month to ensure inclusion.

Handbook Updates

The IBG is finalizing updates to the IAP Handbook, with a planned release by year-end 2025.
