The ISTAT Professional Development Program (PDP) Asia 2024-25 program, in association with PwC, will be held 21-25 October 2024 in Singapore and 8-15 May 2025 in Tokyo. ISTAT PDP is a valuable opportunity for professionals with one to five years of experience to dive deeper into the aviation industry. If you’re a professional with more than five years of experience, we encourage you to share this opportunity with a qualified colleague. The deadline to apply is 19 June.

Club ISTAT and the ISTAT Band: Networking on Steroids
The Spring issue of Jetrader includes an article on the history of Club ISTAT and the ISTAT Band. Since 2005, one of the more popular events held in conjunction with ISTAT conferences has been Club ISTAT. Club ISTAT provides members a relaxed-to-raucous networking event listening to the growing stable of ISTAT Band musicians.
The ISTAT Band has played a number of shows, usually playing the Monday night of ISTAT Americas and sometimes at ISTAT EMEA. To date, the band has performed in: Phoenix, Orlando, Chicago, Austin, San Diego, Edinburgh, Prague and Tokyo.
“An interesting ISTAT Band story involves one of our singers, Mylène Scholnick of Amazon Air. Mylène was the lead singer of Edith Nylon, a French rock band in the 1970s and 1980s. The band had some notable successes, signing a recording contract with CBS Records and opening for The Police. The group disbanded in the early 1980s, but the ISTAT Band had a hand in its recent resurrection.” — Jep Thornton

Appointment of Executive Director, ISTAT Appraisers Program (IAP)
ISTAT is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Negline as IAP executive director. Peter recently stepped down from the ISTAT main board after a four-year term where he was responsible for ISTAT Online and was also chair of the ISTAT editorial board. Peter will work closely with Stuart Rubin, chair of the IAP Board of Governors (IBG), to ensure that the IAP remains the preeminent certification body in the industry. ISTAT thanks Jeff Straebler for his dedicated service to the Appraiser community over the last six years.
