ISTAT PDP: Nurturing Future Leaders
This latest issue of Jetrader includes an article on the ISTAT Professional Development Program (PDP) in association with PwC. ISTAT PDP offers a holistic view of the aviation industry’s interconnected components, fostering collaboration across diverse professional domains and preparing individuals for the challenges of tomorrow.
Designed as a foundational stepping stone for individuals with one to five years of experience in various sectors within the aviation industry, ISTAT PDP offers an immersive experience into the intricate workings of airline economics, aircraft design, manufacturing, valuation, maintenance, trading and financing. More than just a series of lectures, this program enables participants to engage with industry leaders, fostering valuable networking opportunities during unique events integrated into each module.
“When you work in your silo — as a lawyer, engineer, accountant, marketing person, etc. — you don’t often get the opportunity look above the rim of the silo into other parts of the business,” says Nils Hallerstrom, the program’s director.
“It all connects. To foster people to assume leadership roles in the future, you have to have an overview of everything. ISTAT PDP is an opportunity for a lawyer to learn a little bit about aircraft maintenance, and it gives an opportunity to an engineer to know about contract law and term sheets, etc.”
