Honoring the Legacy of Nick Fadugba: A Visionary, Leader and Friend
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Nick Fadugba. Nick was a visionary in the aviation industry, serving as a cherished member of the ISTAT Foundation’s Board of Trustees and chief executive officer of African Aviation Services Ltd. To celebrate Nick’s remarkable life, we honor him through the music he loved. His favorite songs reflect his passion, vision and love for life, and they embody the spirit with which he approached everything he did:
-
“Viva Nigeria” by Fela Kuti
-
“The Wind Cries Mary” by Jimi Hendrix
-
“Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding
-
“Crescent” by John Coltrane Quartet
-
“Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Aretha Franklin
Our thoughts are with Nick’s family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace, Nick — your legacy will forever soar.

The ISTAT Appraiser Program conducted a successful ConEd in Istanbul on Sunday, 22 September, with members in attendance in person, as well as online via Zoom. Presentations covered a macro-outlook, panel discussion on the current engine market and the ongoing challenges Appraisers are facing. There was also an investor view of the OEMs and their challenges. The first Appraiser roundtable session was well received and will likely be incorporated in future ConEd events.
The IAP held Appraiser and Senior Appraiser exams 8-9 October in London, Bangalore and Hong Kong. We thank the IBG Exams Committee for their diligence in setting the final papers.
A new 2024 affirmation file has been released to the IAP Membership; we ask that all members complete this at their earliest convenience. Additionally, the accreditation scores for each IAP will be updated and refreshed during October. IAP members should send missing updates to the IAP Executive Director for inclusion before the end of October.
