Volunteer Spotlight

Louise Hicks has been volunteering at the Rancho since 2004. Currently a docent and a host serving in many areas of the Rancho, Louise also led the volunteer committee for many years, where she fell in love with the barns, animals, and history of the RLA. Louise enjoys interacting with guests and other volunteers, and knows that the significance of the place- its role in local and state history- is important to the community and new visitors.

Now Recruiting New Volunteers!

We are currently seeking docents, virtual school tour volunteers, and garden hosts, though there are many other ways to get involved at RLA. Learn more here or contact Steve Squire at steve@rancholosalamitos.org

Rancho Los Alamitos is located on the ancestral and unceded land of the Tongva/Gabrielino people, who cared for this land for thousands of years and continue to do so today. The Rancho sits atop the village of Puvuun’nga - “the gathering place” - the sacred site of creation for the Tongva/Gabrielino peoples.
