Housing Trust Fund
Now Available!

In order to attract much needed workforce housing to the county, the Chisago County HRA-EDA created a Housing Trust Fund. These funds are to provide either a loan or a grant to encourage housing developers to build in Chisago County.

Cathy Bennett has been reappointed
The Chisago County HRA-EDA is excited to have Cathy serving on our board for another five year term.

As a planning and real estate consultant, Ms. Bennett has over 30 years of experience in private-public alliances, program development, transit-oriented development and project management in all facets of housing policy, development and redevelopment planning and strategic implementation. Since moving to Minnesota 24 years ago, I have lived in Chisago City, raised my two children in Chisago Lakes School and fell in love with the lakes, access to nature and family oriented community activities. I realize that housing is expensive in the county and the majority of people commute outside the county for work. I serve on the HRA-EDA to utilize my professional experience in helping to increase job opportunities and support affordable and attainable housing to ensure an economically competitive and livable county.
Our very own Executive Director of the HRA-EDA, Nancy Hoffman was quoted in IQ Magazine, published by the Initiative Foundation. In this particular article, Nancy is discussing the need and importance of broadband connections in the county.

IQ Magazine complements the work of the Initiative Foundation by featuring articles on the economy, communities and generosity of Central Minnesota while cover stories delve more deeply into regional trends. The magazine is a source of insight and intelligence for busy leaders. We inspire knowledge that inspires action.

The Chisago County HRA - EDA works closely with the Old Hwy 61 Coalition to demonstrate tourism and history of the historic corridor.

The Old Hwy 61 Coalition has been working hard on updating our website in efforts to show visitors traveling on Old Hwy 61 some fun and interesting places to stop and check out.
As we have been updating, it became apparent that we need some more photos of our area to be able to really show what we have to offer.

If you have any photos that you think may benefit the Old Hwy 61 Coalition website, please submit them to Those that submit photos can be recognized if they choose.

Check out the Old Hwy 61 Coalition's website for more information.
