  1. Staff Appreciation Week: This week, we celebrate our hardworking D65 staff! Want to say thank you? Reply to this email with a note of appreciation, and we will make sure it reaches that staff member!
  2. Visit to the Holocaust Museum: Walker Elementary students recently took a field trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie. Students learned about the importance of being an “upstander.”
  3. Justin Wynn Awards: Congratulations to the Justin Wynn Award recipients! These 26 fourth grade students were recognized for their leadership, citizenship, and sportsmanship.
  4. Fifth Ward Design Open House: This week District 65 presented updated renderings of the Fifth Ward School’s design. We expect to break ground on the new state-of-the-art school, with the capacity to serve 600 K-5 students, this summer!
  5. D65 Art Exhibition: See District 65 student art on display Saturday, May 18! Details on the District 65 calendar
  6. Avery’s Helpful Hair Kits: Way to go, Avery! This Dewey Elementary student was recognized by the Evanston City Council recently for the impact she’s making with Avery’s Helpful Hair Kits.
