Weekly Cornerstone Blog
on the New City Catechism

In an effort to make our year through the New City Catechism as fruitful and helpful as possible, some of our pastors and elders are writing a weekly blog to provide additional insights and explanation on the question for that week.

It includes the question and answer, the kids' answer, the accompanying memory verse, additional verses to consider on that question, some commentary on life application, and a connection to our church's statement of faith.

"Roman Catholicism and the Bible"

Monday, July 9th @ 7:00 - 9:00 pm

This 2-hour seminar will examine 7 Roman Catholic teachings and beliefs and their relationship to Scripture. Most are misunderstood or unknown to Catholics and lead to a misunderstanding of the biblical teaching on worship, salvation and eternal security.

We encourage you to invite your Roman Catholic friends and family. The material will be approached gently, respectfully, and with clear, concise Scripture references. The theme of the seminar will be based on 3 key chapters in the Bible: Matthew 23, John 3, and John 17. All are encouraged to read these chapters before the seminar.
Contact Patrick Martin with questions.
"Bridges: Christians Connecting with Muslims"
Reaching Muslims with the Gospel

6 Tuesday evenings
7:00 - 9:00 pm
Starting July 17th
Cornerstone Fellowship Hall

With a growing population of Muslims living and working in America, have you given serious thought to how equipped you are to have a fruitful conversation with a Muslim about Christ and the gospel? Do you know what the major objections and misunderstandings are that Muslims have about Christianity and how to answer them? Would you like to be ready to be an authentic, winsome, and faithful witness for Christ to Muslim friends and neighbors?

Watch a 2 minute video about the class.

Join us for this informative  6-part class!  Contact Taryl Jasper for more information.

Temporary housing hosts are needed for 3-4 days. Drivers are needed to pick up students from the airport. Also, donate furniture and household items or your time at an annual International Student Furniture Giveaway event on Saturday, August 11th. Donations can be accepted after July 8th. Contact Taryl or Susie Jasper, or Chris or Michelle Canfield to help or for more information.

Worth pondering

"Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of the conscience by his holiness; the nourishment of mind with his truth; the purifying of imagination by his beauty; the opening of the heart to his love; the surrender of will to his purpose -- all this gathered up in adoration, the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable.

Our memory verse for 6/24 - 6/30

"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might
