Teen Pride Alliance

Teen Pride Alliance, for ages 14yo-18yo. The group will meet at the same time, on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month (6pm-7:30pm).


We are hoping to create a space for LGBTQ+ Youth where they can explore their identify, creativity, and have real conversations with supportive people.

Coalition Updates

The mission of the SUDDS Coalition is to prevent underage drinking and drug use in the Downriver community.


As of January 2025, the SUDDs Coalition will be officially combined with the Healthy Downriver Coalition to continue its mission on making the community a healthy and safe place for our youth.


Heathy Downriver:


Mission- Our mission is to build collaboration, improve health equity, and be the creator of positive change to support the health and wellness of Downriver residents.

Vision- To have a culturally inclusive Downriver community that engages in healthy living, has equal access to care, and makes informed choices that strengthen mind, body, and spirit.

Evelyn has been a youth volunteer with the coalition since 2023. She has been very passionate with helping behind the scenes with prepping for events and even helping make connections with youth during our summer events.


Awareness Month

March is Women's History Month

In 1978, what started off as just being a week-long local celebration in California to coincide with International Women's Day, as of 1987 March has been dedicated as Women's History Month.


To celebrate, take the time to:

-Learn about women innovators throughout history

-Women's history trivia contest

-Host a feminist book club

March is Bisexual Health Awareness Month

Bi+ individuals experience higher levels of mental health issues, substance misuse, and lack of proper healthcare due to biphobia and misunderstands from a healthcare provider than their gay, lesbian, and heterosexual peers. Bisexual Health Awareness Month was created to help combat this disparity and spread awareness to improve the wellbeing of Bi+ people everywhere.

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week

March 15-26

This week aims to spread awareness on common myths that a lot of teens and young adults believe about alcohol and drugs.


Some Common Myths:


-Marijuana isn't addictive

-Prescription pills are safe because they are from a doctor

-Beer doesn't have the same amount of alcohol as liquor

-I can drive well enough after a few drinks

Transgender Day of Visibility

March 31st is used every year to honor International Transgender Day of Visibility. There is an estimated over 3 million transgender adults in the United States, so take today celebrate the joy and resilience of trans and non-binary people everywhere and find ways to become an ally and support to the community.
