DALLAS AFTERSCHOOL NEWS
NEW WONDER KIT ® IS A HIT AT iURBAN TEEN SUMMIT!
This past year, our Dallas Afterschool team collaborated with T-Mobile on a new " Coding Towers" Wonder Kit and debuted it earlier this month with local teens. The verdict? Teens loved the new challenge-based Wonder Kit ® that helped show them how mobile devices work.

“When we were introduced to Dallas Afterschool and Wonder Kits we immediately knew that this partnership would be a great way to educate the community...and inspire the next generation of wireless engineers.”

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
Christina K. Hanger
As we give thanks this month, please know how very thankful we are for you! Your support makes a world of difference to students in Dallas.
TODAY IS NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY!
Dallas Afterschool LOVES our donors! THANK YOU for all you do to ensure Dallas children have access to free and low-cost afterschool programs that keep them safe and help them thrive.
October 24th marked the 20th annual Lights on Afterschool . This year, we celebrated with our After School All Stars partners and the Dallas Mayor's Star Council Texas State Representative Carl Sherman  and Dallas City Council Member Chad West were also on hand to help us celebrate.

As part of the festivities, students learned about the importance of our government systems. They also received a lesson in advocacy and how to identify their city council member as well as their state and congressional representatives.
GAME OF THROWS HITS THE MARK
Our Young Professionals group held a new fundraising event, Game of Throws at DOTS Hop House on November 7th. Young professionals competed in a cornhole tournament, met other young professionals, and helped raise awareness and support for Dallas Afterschool.
Special thanks to our event sponsor:
