DALLAS AFTERSCHOOL NEWS
OUR 2021 POLICY BRIEF IS NOW AVAILABLE
Hot off the press! Our 2021 Policy Brief provides recommendations to support the out-of-school time community and the students we serve. This year's report features guidelines on COVID-19 as well as specific city, state, and district-level recommendations.
COACHING FOR LEADERSHIP
Last month we launched our new Coaching for Leadership Cohort, a professional learning community designed to empower out-of-school time leaders with the skills they need to cultivate high-performing teams. The cohort will help professionals gain insights into how they can best support team members, identify areas of improvement, and set meaningful goals for greater impact in programming and student outcomes.

For more information about training, check out our Spring Training Lineup. For questions or suggestions on courses email training@dallasafterschool.org.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
Christina K. Hanger
At Dallas Afterschool, research is the cornerstone our work. We recently partnered with the Afterschool Alliance, a national organization, to produce a comprehensive report on the state of afterschool in our community entitled Dallas After 3PM. Findings from this report were so compelling that the Dallas Morning News recently published an article on it (linked here).

Thank you for your support and belief in our mission as we work to build a new future for out-of-school time in our community.
OUR TEAM MEMBERS ARE AMAZING!
Congratulations to Marjorie Murat and Angelica Portillo for their recent accomplishments! Marjorie was recently accepted into the inaugural cohort of TRHT's Black Women in Nonprofit Leadership (BWNPL) program. Angelica graduated last month from the UT's LBJ Women's Campaign school.
USE YOUR VOICE FOR STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY!
The City of Dallas will soon decide how to use HUD funds. Show your support for afterschool by completing the City of Dallas FY 2021-22 Action Plan Survey. (NOTE: Funding for afterschool is based on the city's recommendations for additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.)

The deadline for public comment is February 28th.
