Jetrader Magazine

The latest issue of Jetrader includes an article detailing how six ISTAT Foundation representatives took a self-funded trip to Nairobi, Kenya, to support grant recipient African Leaders in Aviation (ALA). In 2022, the Foundation supported three African organizations, including ALA.

ALA was founded in 2020 by two female aviation enthusiasts, Nyasha Manyika and Khodani Davhana, with the mission to influence, raise and strengthen young African students’ interest in aviation, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Avi-STEM). ALA hosted its ISTAT-funded Avi-STEM workshop in September 2022. Foundation leadership representatives and previous scholarship recipients traveled to Nairobi to participate in the four-day workshop, which attracted more than 200 Nairobi students aged 10-18.
