DIG PINK Games Are Oct. 17
Thayer Academy and its girls volleyball program will hold their annual DIG PINK volleyball games Friday, Oct. 17, at 5:15 p.m. in contests against St. Mark’s School. The varsity team will play in Memorial Gym while the JV squad will play in Alumni Gym. The event will include free pizza, snacks, and drinks as well as pink spirit gear. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to cheer on the teams. In addition, an all-day bake sale will take place during the school day. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Indicate Your Interest via Survey
In conjunction with last week's screening of Join or Die and the upcoming Global Speaker Series event with Robert Putnam now scheduled for Oct. 30, Thayer seeks to create opportunities for parents and guardians to come together in community. In that vein, please respond to this survey and indicate your interest in joining the TAPA Book Club, playing pickleball, or learning to play mah-jongg with your fellow parents/guardians in the coming weeks and months.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Grandparents & Special Friends Day for both Upper School and Middle School families will take place Friday, Nov. 21. All parents/guardians received an email earlier this month to share the contact information of those who should be invited; however, in case families have not responded yet, this RSVP link allows grandparents and special friends to RSVP directly to the event.
OMEGA Fall Potluck Is Oct. 28
OMEGA (Organization for Minorities through Enrichment, Growth, and Advancement) invites everyone to a night of food, fun, and community with the OMEGA Fall Potluck set for Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Cahall Dining Hall. Young Alumni Social in Providence; Current Students Invited
Thayer’s Alumni Office will kick off the 2025-26 Alumni College Visit Series with a Thayer Young Alumni Social on Monday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Golden Crust Pizza in Providence. Organizers can’t wait to bring alumni from Providence-area colleges — including Providence College, Brown University, and Bryant University, among others — back together. The area, in fact, is one of the most concentrated regions in terms of Thayer graduates.
The Alumni Office has also opened up this event to any current Thayer students who are interested in Providence-area colleges. If students or their families have any questions or would like to join, email Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Caroline Lay for more information. Please let Ms. Lay know if you plan to attend.
