East Bridgewater Central School's Fundraiser Success
On Jan. 28, the EB Central School families raised $46,000+, surpassing their goal of $40,000 during their Boosterthon Fun Run: Color Run & Kindness Campaign. With this money, the school will be able to fund immersive educational experiences for field trips, technology, e-learning tools, alternative seating, and more.
The kids completed 10 acts of kindness and ran 25 fitness laps during their Fun Run and as a result of achieving their fundraising goal, they were given a fun lunchtime that was DJ'ed by the principal.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

The Edison Power Plant on Spring St.
About 1945 the tower was deconstructed; before that, the whistle blew each night at 7p.
EB Historian, Margaret Alexander remembers... "We kids hated that whistle. It meant it was time to stop playing with our friends and come home each night."

EB Middle Schoolers Learn to Animate
Our East Bridgewater kids are hard at work, learning how to put their creativity in a new form of expression: animation. From videos of a blinking eye to a jumping girl, and even to an alien flying a UFO, it is inspiring to see what our youth can produce these days.
Student work to the right was created by Zambian.

Here's to Winter
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
~ Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland / Through the Looking-Glass
“Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.” ~ Yoko Ono
“Winter is not a season, it's an occupation.”
~ Sinclair Lewis
“I know the look of an apple that is roasting and sizzling on the hearth on a winter's evening, and I know the comfort that comes of eating it hot, along with some sugar and a drench of cream... I know how the nuts taken in conjunction with winter apples, cider, and doughnuts, make old people's tales and old jokes sound fresh and crisp and enchanting.” ~ Mark Twain
|
We've had the full winter experience now, a nor'easter and snow to our waist. Glistening snowflakes and cold, wet discomfort. Is it possible to love and hate something so much at the same time? This, too, shall pass. And then I will miss it.
~ Jacquie
