TRY SOMETHING NEW IN 2025

January is a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to things to come! The new year is also good a time to learn something new and the library can help you achieve your goals. Whether you want to try Tai Chi at Redwood Shores Branch Library, learn a new language, or earn your high school diploma, we have something for everyone.

Our Makerspace is all about learning and making! Try our Open Sewing or Open Makers to get started on learning new skills. Weekly, we have Coding Club and Lego Robotics for kids interested in the basics of programming. Teen Open Makers on Mondays gives teens the chance to play with some of our tools, like our Cricut and 3D printers. Find more Makerspace programs here.

You can also expand your knowledge with free access to online learning tools. Pronunciator is a fun and free way to learn any of 163 languages. Take note: Brainfuse is back and offers online access to qualified tutors.

Did you know that you can get your high school diploma free through the Redwood City Library? Career Online High School offers adults the opportunity to complete their high school education and gain career training through a self-paced, supportive and accredited online education program.

If you are looking to expand your career, drop into our NOVAworks Career Office Hours // Ayuda profesional de NOVAworks on Mondays at 1pm to speak with a career advisor. You can also join our Mock Interviews with Phase2Careers session on January 21 at 6pm.

CITY CORNER

The purpose of the Water Conservation Poster Contest is to educate the next generation about the importance of conserving water. Developing a water wise culture at an early age is vital to the success of managing our water into the future.Redwood City kindergarten through 5th grade students were asked to use their artistic abilities to illustrate key water conservation messages.
