Earlier this month, the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) along with the US Small Business Administration (SBA), hosted a Small Business Bankers Panel event attended by over 150 participants. Moderated by District Director Beth Goldberg of the SBA, the bankers participated on the panel discussed their bank's various loan programs and eligibility requirements. The panelists included representatives and loan specialists from the SBA, Santander, M&T Bank, Flushing Bank, TD, Northfield, and Newtek.

On February 2nd, the Pace SBDC was proud to co-host with NYC Public Advocate Letitia James, Carver Federal Savings Bank, Spring Bank and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions a forum exploring economic opportunity. The forum in part dove into the important role credit unions and community banks play in providing affordable small business financing, in particular for entrepreneurs
who have difficulty securing a loan due to poor or a lack of credit, are startups, or for a host of other reasons.

Pace SBDC client Bushwick Post secured a $100,000 loan to launch their new packing, shipping and printing business to serve Bushwick residents and businesses, and created four new jobs.
