Business Entity Formation & Intellectual Property Rights Workshops Recap
The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) teamed up with the City Bar Justice Center to host volunteer attorneys for two workshops in March. The first was Business Entity Formation, which discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the various business structure options.The second was Intellectual Property Rights for Entrepreneurs, which highlighted the intricacies of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. The extensive Q&A at the end of each workshop was a participant favorite, as it allowed attendees to ask questions relevant to their own businesses.

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is proud to partner with the
New York Public Library's Business Library (SIBL) to bring free 1:1 small business counseling to SIBL visitors. Twice each month, Pace SBDC business advisors meet with individuals at SIBL who are interested in starting or growing their small business, covering areas such as access to financing, marketing strategies for securing new customers, and contract procurement with public agencies. Further, Pace SBDC business advisors have been working with entrants to SIBL's
New York StartUP! Business Plan Competition to guide them through developing a business plan, and the Center's director, Andrew Flamm, serves on the competition review team.
