Our mission, at The Inventor Center, is to support local entrepreneurship and create an environment that inspires the maker community to network, collaborate, practice their craft, and learn new skills. Our makers range from enthusiasts, and artists; to geeks/tinkerers, coders, and craftsmen. If you are into it, we are into it.

Build Your Own Wooden American Flag
Patriotism is in the air as we approach the 4th of July, so now is a great time to make and take home one of these wooden flags! This piece measures 37" X 19.5" and is scaled accurately. This wooden flag makes a great addition to a man cave or workshop and, if done right, it is also fitting as an accent in a formal living space, not to mention a great seasonal piece for the summer holidays!
You often see variations of this flag online, and many have built businesses around selling them. You can have the chance to learn to make this flag and make some extra money down the road... Let us teach you to fish!
If we work efficiently and stay on task this project will be completed in a day, so come prepared to focus! If you are unable to stay the entire time then you can come back and finish the project later.

Discover how to take advantage of those peak season produce items with creative tips and recipes from our local chefs!
Saturdays with the Chef is a free cooking demo series showcasing Kingsport chefs and their recipes using produce available at the Kingsport Farmers Market. Copies of each chef's recipe will be available at the demo and online. The schedule for the 2019 demos will be posted to this Facebook page.
Free samples will be available at each demo!
The series takes place every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in June and July at the Kingsport Farmers Market.
The series is sponsored by Food City, Visit Kingsport and the City of Kingsport.

ANYONE CAN JOIN! You can create your own masterpiece. Cost is only $30. Price includes one pint of beer for any painter over the age of 21. Painting Parties hosts this fun even where you can paint either a VW or a tent.
The proceeds from this event will support Troop 48 for their Sea Base Trip!
