SERMON SERIES

We were never meant to do life alone. In a world where loneliness is rising, screens often replace faces, and fear of the future can isolate us, God calls us back to connection. This series explores what it means to be truly present with one another — to build real community, share hope, and rediscover the power of gathering on purpose. Because when we choose to live in relationship, we remember that we’re always better together.

You can join us every Sunday at

There will be NO modern worship, Adult, Youth or Kids activities on Wednesday, November 26th and NO Wiggle Church on November 27th.

Celebration of Service

December 28| 9:30 am| FLC

The Staff-Parish Relations Team has received word from Dana Campbell that she is resigning her part-time position as organist/accompanist on our staff effective December 31, 2025. She has accepted a full-time position at All Saints Episcopal Church in Ft. Worth. We are excited for this amazing opportunity for Dana, we are also sad for St. Barnabas. Dana has been a wonderful part of our staff for many years, and she will be missed greatly.

We were also notified that Mark Husband would be retiring as the Director of Music Ministries effective December 31, 2025. Mark has served as a music director for 34 years in various churches. He just felt like it was time to step down and see what new things God has in store for him next.

We will celebrate both Dana and Mark at a come and go reception during the 9:30 Sunday School hour on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Please take a few minutes to write a card or note thanking them for their service to our church.

All of our weekly mid-week activities are back THIS WEEK! NBA Cafe dinner is every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30. The youth Bible study is from 6:30-7:00 where we're spending the semester looking at crazy and bazaar stories from the Bible. This week we're starting Jonah and the whale. Our Modern worship service will follow at 7:00 pm.

Every Thursday we have a great group of volunteers that cook a home-made lunch for the upperclassmen at Martin High School. This week we are having our Mexican menu with tacos, taquitos, and nachos.

Young Adult Bible Study

Last semester we started a Bible study on Thursday nights for our college-age students (18-25) who were looking for somewhere to study and plug in. We meet every Thursday from 7:00-8:00 pm in room F215. This semester we are looking at the book called Bible Stories for Grown Ups by Josh Scott.

December Events

December is our busiest month of the year. Between all the Christmas carols and hot cocoa, the youth have some fun events planned.

Christmas Angels- December 7

Every year, we partner with the Families in Transition group that works with AISD to make toiletry boxes for homeless teenagers. Everyone brings money and we go to Walmart to fill the boxes with basic things like shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste and anything else someone might need. We ask that each youth bring $20 to go towards the boxes.

Youth Christmas Party- December 14

The youth Christmas Party is one of the most attended events we host. We have a potluck dinner where we'll take care of the main dishes and dessert, but we ask everyone to bring a side dish, fruits, or veggies. After dinner we do a white elephant style gift exchange where everyone brings a $15 wrapped gift. Students also have the option to be a part of Secret Santa which is a $20 gift that should be wrapped and brought to the party. Secret Santa closes November 30, and everyone will get their recipient by December 7.

New Year's Eve Party- December 31

This year we're having our annual NYE party at the Norris barn on December 31 from 7-10 pm. Bring snacks to share and we'll take care of the drinks. We'll have ping-pong and Mario Kart tournaments, Jackbox, and card games.

Cornerstone

Every year we host a three-day retreat on MLK weekend where the youth stay at host homes, do a mission project, have a small group, worship together, and of course participate in an amazing couch race. The AMC is a favorite youth tradition where the youth do a photo scavenger hunt around town, and they have to have a couch in every picture. This year, Cornerstone is January 16-18 and costs $15. Registration opens December 7 and closes December 31.

Mission Trip 2026

SAVE THE DATE!!! This year we're going to Stillwater, OK June 14-21. Make sure to put these dates on your calendar.

EEC Coat/Jacket Drive

With Cooler weather approaching EEC would like to help those in need. Over the next few months, we are going to be teaching the children the importance of giving to those in need and helping those less fortunate than us. November 5th –November 21st, we will be having a “Coat/Jacket Drive”. We will be collecting adult and children’s coats/jackets to take to a local charity. As you are pulling out those coats from last year and you realize they are too small for you or your child, please consider bringing them to us to help others in need. These will be donated to the Vine closet.

We received word this week about the death of Wayne Clifford, a former member of St. Barnabas. His funeral service will be on November 29 at 3:00 pm at Arlington Heights UMC. Please be in prayer for his family.
