The Isle of Hope UMC family will celebrate All Saints Day this Sunday morning, November 3, at both 9:15 AM worship services. This day is important in the life of our congregation, as we remember and celebrate those members of our church who have died since the last All Saints Day. We want to give thanks for the way they inspired and enriched our lives and celebrate our commonplace in the communion of all saints past, present, and future.
In Traditional Worship, we will honor our sacred saints by calling their names and asking a loved one to come forward with the flower they received from the Narthex before worship. Each flower will become part of a beautiful collective arrangement. Family and friends will be invited to stand as the name of their loved one is called.
In Anchor Worship, we will honor our sacred saints by calling their names while a candle is lit in their memory. Family and friends will be invited to stand as the name of their loved one is called.
If you have a loved one who is not a member of our church and died in the past year, a greeter will offer you a card at the beginning of the service to write down the name. Cards will be collected, and their names will be called during this time.

Retirement Announcement for Nancy Vogelsang | |
With mixed emotions, we announce the retirement of Nancy Vogelsang, our beloved Assistant Director of Music at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. After nearly three decades of dedicated service, Nancy has decided to retire at the end of the year, allowing her to spend more time with her family and explore new passions.
Nancy’s musical journey began in Batesville, Indiana, and her remarkable talent led her to earn music degrees from DePauw University and the University of Cincinnati. Since 1995, she has been a cherished member of our church community, enriching our worship with her extraordinary musical gifts and unwavering dedication.
Throughout her tenure, Nancy has been instrumental in nurturing our Music Ministry. She has inspired singers, musicians, and congregation members alike with her passion, creativity, and love for music. Her influence has

touched countless lives, and her legacy will resonate within our church walls for years to come.
Nancy is not only an exceptional musician but also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband, Kevin, are proud parents of two daughters and four delightful grandchildren, with whom they look forward to spending more time. Nancy’s family, including their dog Biggy, will be the focus of her next chapter, alongside her continued passion for teaching piano in Savannah and pursuing other interests.
Bill Simmons, our Staff-Parish Relations Chair, shares, “Nancy’s contributions to Isle of Hope UMC have been immeasurable. Her ability to bring a profound sense of spirituality and beauty through music has enriched our worship experiences and strengthened our community. We are deeply grateful for her years of service and wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Thank you, Nancy, for your incredible devotion and love for this community. You will be dearly missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to experience your musical touch.

Thank You for your Generosity!
The Valdosta Campus of The Methodist Home for Children was damaged severely during Hurricane Helene. In October, IOHUMC responded to a request to help The Methodist Home meet their insurance deductible of $25,000. With your Communion gifts and those of other churches, the deductible was met, and repairs quickly began. UMCOR teams also responded to provide immediate relief. With such a generous response, all of the girls have been able to return to their homes. The roofs still need to be repaired/replaced, but that can occur while the girls are back in their rooms. Thank you so much for helping to provide for them during such a difficult time.
