Charge Conference

Rev. David Thompson, Coastal District Superintendent, will host our annual Charge Conference on Wednesday, November 30th at 6:30 pm in the Covenant Classroom.

Churchwide Conversations about the UMC

The Church Council recently voted to enter the process of discussion around Isle of Hope UMC's denominational affiliation. An email was sent a few weeks ago with information about the decision and reading materials for your consideration. If you did not receive the email, click on the link here to view the PDF.

If you have further questions about the process, please visit www.sgaumc.org/disaffiliation-faqs to familiarize yourself with the issues at hand and the potential impacts to our congregation. If you were unable to attend the United Methodist Women's Fall Meeting with guest speakers Rev. Jay Hansen and Rev. Ben Gosden, who spoke on the topic, a recording of the event is available clicking the thumbnail above.

Stewardship and Consecration

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen!"

Ephesians 3:20-21

2023 Prayer Guides and Estimate of Giving cards have been mailed. We invite you to consider your prayerful response to God's invitation to give. You may return your card by mail or complete it online by clicking here.

Readings begin on December 1st and will take us through Christmas day on a journey exploring the long story of God's people from the Old Testament to the New, from the Garden of Eden to the Bethlehem manger, all the way to the New Jerusalem. Copies are available for a suggested donation of $10.

Wednesday Night Supper

Meals cost $8 and reservations can be made by clicking the button below, or through our website, www.iohumc.com.

Missions

IOHUMC schedules 2 volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to people in our area through Senior Citizens, Inc. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays every week. The meals are at the Green House in coolers around 10:45am, and our volunteers meet at 11am to deliver the meals from the route sheet provided by Senior Citizens, Inc. What a great way to spend tiime with a friend while serving others.

We are in need of 2 volunteers beginning in 2023 on the 4th Monday of each month. Contact Phyllis Curlee at (912) 658-8904 if you have any questions.

Missions During the Advent Season

Check out the opportunities to serve this Advent season by visiting the Missions display in the main hallway! We are sponsoring a toy drive for Wesley Community Center, a sock/underwear drive for children in foster care, and you can sign up to make goodies and deliver them to locations open on Christmas Day! Stop by the table or see Shannon Baxter for more information.
