Reception for Jason Wade & Tom Whatley
As most of you know, Jason Wade has accepted an appointment to serve as Senior Pastor in Columbus, Ga., and Tom Whatley has accepted an appointment as the Pastor of two churches in Effingham County. We will certainly miss these two amazing men.
Their last Sunday will be June 5th. We will host a reception to honor them on Sunday, May 22nd, immediately after Sunday School in the Ministry Center. If you would like to write Tom and/ or Jason a note, we will have 2 baskets at the reception.
Please contact Barbie Lientz, jupcoyote@aol.com, about helping with food and other preparations so we can honor Tom and Jason well, and thank them for their years serving Christ with us at IOHUMC.

Afghan Refugee Family Update
We are excited to share that the Afghan refugee family IOHUMC supports recently moved into an apartment! It has been a long wait for them since arriving in December, and they are so excited to have room to spread out and run in the yard!! Thanks to everyone who donated furniture and household items and helped them move! We had more than enough to provide for this family's needs and they are very grateful.
Currently, members of the church are raising funds to cover the family's rent and utilities for the next year. If you would like to help in this way or have questions, contact Shannon Baxter.

Tapachula Virtual Mission Trip
On Thursday, June 2nd, at 6:00pm, come celebrate and learn about the work Isle of Hope UMC is doing as we partner with Mission on the Move! This year's Virtual Mission Trip will take us to Tapachula, Mexico, where we help support a children's home for orphans and those whose parents are in the local prison.
Dinner will be served and will be a favorite of teams that have visited in the past! Together we will learn what Mission on the Move is doing to change the lives of the children and their community!
We are challenging participants to help us raise $3,500 to help fund Christmas celebrations for the children (gifts and time away with family) and repairs on a bathroom for the onsite missionaries. You can make a donation on our website by visiting www.iohumc.com.
