VBS Volunteer Orientation Monday, May 18

9:30am or 6:00pm | Room 18

Our VBS Volunteer Orientation has been rescheduled for Monday, May 18. We will offer the orientation at two different times, 9:30am and 6:00pm, to make it easy for you to attend. Choose the one that is best for you.

All helpers, youth & adults, must complete our required annual Safe Sanctuary certification. We will also review schedules & distribute materials.

If you know of any interested youth or adults who haven't signed up yet, tell them to come to the orientation and go ahead and register online to help by clicking below.

Please email Beth Parr at bparr@iohumc.com to RSVP, and be sure to include which time you will attend.

Student Ministry Summer Schedule

Anything but a Cup Night. Appalachia Service Project. Dock Party Summer Finale....the list goes on and on.

You're not going to want to miss Student Ministries Summer at IOHUMC! Mark your calendars now for a summer full of sunshine and core memories.

And don't forget - Student Ministries meets on Wednesday nights at 5:30 pm during the summer!

175th Anniversary Celebration

Many, many thanks to all who came to our 175th Anniversary Celebration on May 3 and those who helped make it happen. This event could not have been successful without the tireless work of many volunteers and, of course, our wonderful staff and clergy. It was a beautiful and joyful celebration that honored our church's rich history.

Special thanks to the 175th Anniversary Planning Committee: Joshua Grotheer, Lynn Hagan, Barbie Lientz, Karen and Fred Daniel, Jane Tyler, Suzy Carpenter, Lisa Sharpley, Marla Williamson, Allie Daniel, Marla Grady, Rev. Meg Procopio, Rev. Jared Wilson, and Rev. Josh Roberts.

If you couldn't attend our celebration, you can watch the service here. We also shared a video during brunch called Rooted in Faith: 175 Years of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. We asked four long-time church members about the impact of IOHUMC on their lives, and you can watch the video below to find their answers!

Mission Moment

Note from Julie Vann

It is with a heart full of gratitude and love that I express my appreciation for the touching tribute regarding my time as Director of Missions at Isle of Hope UMC. It has been a privilege over the years to serve alongside so many of you. Together we have cultivated community in the name of Jesus, both locally and globally. I look forward to many more opportunities in the future to share His love with all His children wherever He may lead us.

With much love,

Julie Vann

L.O.V.E. Mentors Year-End Celebration

We are grateful for an incredible year of impact with IOHUMC’s 8 dedicated LOVE Mentors at Isle of Hope K–8 School!

Last Wednesday, mentors and students gathered to celebrate the end of the school year with a special party filled with snacks, laughter, and extra love & encouragement from their mentors. These meaningful relationships continue to remind students that they are seen, valued, and supported.

Responding to South GA Wildfires

As communities across South Georgia continue recovering from the recent wildfires, we invite you to keep praying for the families, firefighters, and local leaders impacted by this devastating event. While many of the fires are now mostly contained, the recovery process is just beginning for the hundreds of families who will face ongoing needs in the weeks and months ahead.

Thanks to your generosity, we have received over $1,300 so far to support disaster response efforts through the South Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Financial gifts remain one of the most impactful ways to respond. You can give online by selecting the “Conference Disaster Response” fund, or give by check, designating “Wildfire Response” in the memo line.
