A Special Thank You

Dear Isle of Hope,

I wanted to take this opportunity to formally thank each one of you for your support, love, and guidance during my time at IOH. Not only have the last 6 years been memorable and fruitful, I have had the privilege to work with some of the best staff and am leaving with lasting friendships in which I am forever grateful .

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.

In Christ,

Kristen Tillman

2023 Stewardship Campaign

Dear Isle of Hope,

As we conclude our Stewardship Campaign, we are reminded of the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 12, "There are different kinds of gifts, but they are all given to believers by the same Spirit." We are all parts of one body, each with unique gifts and talents, and each one of us is a part of it.

Over the past few weeks, we have had the privilege of hearing from various members of our congregation, sharing their personal experiences on prayer, presence, service, and gifts. Their stories have been a testament to the power of faith and the strength of our church family. We hope that these testimonies have inspired you, as they have us, to consider how we can each contribute to the life of our church.

As we move forward, we are calling on each of you to prayerfully consider how you can unite as a community of faith and move forward with intentional commitment. This is not just about your financial pledges, but about your commitment of time, talent, and heart.

We are asking each of you to complete the pledge card that can be accessed by clicking the button below. This is a tangible way for you to express your commitment to our church and to the work that we are doing together. Whether it is through prayer, presence, service, gifts, or witness, we invite you to consider how you have been called to participate in the ministries of our church.

Remember, we are one body in Christ. Each one of us has a role to play, and each one of us is needed. As Paul reminds us, "God has placed each part in the body just as He wanted it to be. If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body."

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10. Together, let's continue to be the body of Christ, serving and loving one another, and shining His light in the world.

In Christ's love,

Donavan and Ashley Eason

Way Forward Committee  - Prayer Emphasis May 31-June 3

For our Way Forward Prayer emphasis this week, please pray for Stephen and Sheri Grantham and their family. We are so grateful that the bishop sent them to us now. Pray that we will each find ways to show our appreciation and welcome them into our lives and our hearts.

As Rev. Grantham leads us in the Way Forward to make disciples of Jesus Christ, let us pray for open ears to hear his message, open minds for understanding the word and open hearts to share the love.

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”  Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. - Hebrews 13:6-11

‘…whatever you have done for the least of these my brothers and sisters, you have done it unto me.” Matt. 25:40

Many have said our Rise Against Hunter event on April 22 was a great event! Here is another opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus! Summer is a tough time for children who face food insecurity. In Coastal Georgia, 1 out of 6 children go hungry every day. You can make a difference.

Second Harvest needs volunteers to help pack breakfast kits for kids. This is a family-friendly event! Children are welcome to participate if they are able. Please consider joining them at the Second Harvest facility, 2651 Causton Bluff (31404), on any of the following dates and time slots:

May 31 (Wednesday) 9am - 11am

June 6  (Tuesday)  9am - 11am

June 10  (Saturday) 9am - 11am

To sign up, contact Karen Daniel at (912) 663-0113 or email her at [email protected]. Carpools from the church will be available.

SIFAT Mission Trip

Learn & Serve (L&S) is a ministry of SIFAT that provides an opportunity for students to gain a holistic view of the developing world. Throughout the year, churches, universities and school groups visit this 176-acre campus to learn through interactive programming and simulations. A simulated rural Global Village and an Urban Slum are used as teaching tools to let people experience the lives of our brothers and sisters living in the two-thirds world. SIFAT believes, “When we walk in their shoes and feel what they are feeling, reasons for poverty become much clearer. Then we begin to understand the Biblical teachings on our responsibility in the face of poverty and need.” After receiving a global view, they challenge students to take what they have learned and respond in their local communities with action.

This trip will be led by Hope Treece and Bill Simmons and is open to rising 7th - graduated 12th graders.

New Study - SALT Class

The SALT Sunday School Class is launching into an 8-week study of Ephesians called Chosen. As believers in Christ, our identity has been radically changed. We are adopted as sons and daughters into the family of God. What does it look like to live out our identity in Christ?

For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him (Ephesians 1:4).
