Here's What's New at Isle of Hope:

Jammin' July: Good Dirt

During the month of July, all adult Sunday School classes will meet together in the Ministry Center for our Adult Education Series focused on cultivating community.

Each week, we will listen to wonderful presenters speak on topics like the origins of community, how community is sustained by faith, what to do when community falls apart, and practical pathways to community.

We can't wait to see you all there!

Summer Sermon Series: The Story of Us

This summer, we will follow stories of promise, struggle, discipleship, grace, and transformation. Through studying Genesis & Matthew, we will discover how God continues shaping ordinary people into people of faith.

Opportunities to Serve

Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings

Wednesday Nights at 5:30 pm | Tabby House Prayer Room

Wanted: Prayer partners to meet together on Wednesday nights in the Tabby House Prayer Room at 5:30pm for corporate prayer. As Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:18, we are to “be alert and always...praying for all the Lord’s people."

We will lift up prayer requests and praises for answered prayers, in addition to lifting up our church, pastors, staff, committees and activities. You may come and go as your time permits. Your prayers may be silent or spoken. If you are uncertain as to how you should pray, ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for you (Romans 8:26-27). We have Christ’s promise that when we gather together in His name He will be with us (Matthew 18:20). Please prayerfully consider joining us.

Prayer Requests and Prayers Answered: During the prayer time in our Sunday worship services, names are lifted up to our Lord for healing, peace, comfort, wisdom, strength, and other needs. Please consider filling out a Prayer Request/ Prayers Answered Card which can be found in the Sanctuary pews and by the Offering Boxes in the Ministry Center so that these persons may be prayed for during our Wednesday night prayer meetings. The cards may be placed in an offering plate, an offering box, or turned into the church office.

All prayer requests and praises are confidential.

Contact Gary Thompson at gdt1951@comcast.net with any questions.

Flower Guild Requests Mugs

The Flower Guild requests donations of standard sized (11 oz.) coffee mugs which can be dropped off in the Sacristy. They no longer need vase donations. Thank you so much for your support!

Introducing the SonRise Casserole Crew!

We’re excited to launch a new ministry led by Boo Padgett and Jenny DeVan to support the ongoing work of SonRise Servers.

On the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Saturdays of each month, the SonRise Servers volunteer downtown to serve breakfast to our unhoused neighbors in Savannah. To support this ministry, a small team will now meet monthly on the first Thursday at 2PM in the main kitchen to prepare breakfast casseroles for the month ahead.

This is a simple yet meaningful way to serve behind the scenes and help provide warm meals with care and consistency. The team is looking for 4–5 volunteers each month to help cook and prepare casseroles.

Guatemala Mission Trip Interest Update

We’re continuing to prayerfully prepare for our upcoming Guatemala mission trip, and we’d love to hear from anyone who is still interested in being part of the team.

If you’ve been considering the trip, please give us an update by June 4th — whether you feel ready to commit, are still praying through the decision, or simply need a little more time. This will help us begin planning lodging and transportation needs.

If you are interested, please contact Sara Fullerton at sfullerton@iohumc.com for additional details and next steps.

Help Reopen Wesley’s STEAM Spot for Kidz

As Wesley Community Center prepares to reopen their STEAM Spot for Kidz, they are looking for volunteers to help get classrooms and outdoor learning spaces ready for children and families.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Spreading mulch on the playground
  • Cleaning playground equipment
  • Assembling classroom furniture and materials
  • Setting up STEAM materials for the outdoor learning area

Volunteers are needed Tuesday–Thursday between 8 am and 3 pm.

If you’re interested in helping, contact Sara Fullerton at sfullerton@iohumc.com.

Faith, Freedom, & Community: A Service of Worship for Our Nation's 250th Year

July 5 at 9:15 am | Sanctuary

Join us as we gather in worship to give thanks for the gift of freedom and to reflect on our calling as people of faith within the life of our nation. Through scripture, prayer, and music—including offerings from our choir—we will explore the ways God forms us into a community rooted in grace, committed to justice, and united in hope.

This service offers a meaningful opportunity to honor our shared life as citizens, while remembering the deeper foundation of our life together in Christ.
