Because of your Generosity
Due to your swift and generous response, the funds donated for our Afghan family exceeded their needs, and they are very grateful! The family has moved into an apartment and the father works hard at a well-paying job. However, not all refugees have been supported in such a way, so we asked Inspiritus about others whom we could assist and wanted to share how your prayers and gifts have impacted many lives.
"Bibi" is a young Afghan woman who is here on her own. She is pregnant and will be delivering her baby soon. She has been struggling to pay rent or buy basic necessities for herself and her baby.
"Abdul" and "Aziz" are young men who escaped Kabul and worked with the U.S Military. They are Pashtuns, from a rural area in the northeastern part of Afghanistan. Neither received formal education, so they do not read in their language or have any English skills yet. The adjustment for all refugees is daunting, but especially for those with extra language barriers. Abdul and Aziz are both employed and work hard, long hours, but they are still struggling to make ends meet and pay bills.
The "Khalil" family of six is from Sudan. They have four sons, two teenagers and two younger boys. They arrived alongside the Afghan Allies in November and have been settling in with other families, but being Sudanese and speaking Arabic impedes them from interacting easily with other refugees. This barrier has made their adjustment from surviving to thriving a challenge.
Your generosity has been life-changing for Bibi, Abdul and Aziz, and the Khalil family, and will support them all for several months as they move toward independence. Thank you for showing the love of Christ to our new neighbors!
