40 Days Through the Bible
Join Brooke Chambers and Patty Tucker for an 8-week study, starting Wednesday, August 17 from 5pm-6pm, during Children’s Choir time, in the Cornus Living Room.
We will use Lysa TerKeurst’s book 40 Days Through the Bible to take a journey through the storyline of the Bible, see the Bible’s major themes, how they are all connected, and what that means for us as we read the Bible today. We’ll also discover eight major things all people long for, and how Jesus fulfills them for us.

Holy Communion
We will be observing holy communion this Sunday, August 7th, during worship. If you are planning on worshipping from home, you may pick up communion elements in the Prayer Room (code 1110) or during Wednesday Night Supper pick-up.

Meals cost $8 and reservations can be made by clicking the button below, or on our website (www.iohumc.com).
On the menu for 8/10 is Chicken Parmesan over pasta with marinara sauce.

The Seekers Class
The Seekers Adult Sunday School Class welcomes everyone back to our regular time this Sunday, August 7. We are beginning a new seven-week video series featuring Dr. Sandra Richter called the Epic of Eden -Jonah. Joe Buck will be facilitating.
We invite anyone who is looking for a class or would just like to visit for these 7 weeks. Refreshments are great and the fellowship is super. Come see us!

Children's Choir Kick Off
We are looking forward to beginning Children’s Choirs on Wednesday, August 17th 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Our choirs are separated into two age groups: Joyful Noise (age 4 by September 1st through Kindergarten) and Kids of the Kingdom (1st through 5th grade).

Hope Arbor Training
A new Hope Arbor Volunteer training will be held on Monday, August 15th from 10am-3pm. Lunch will be included! If you're interested in helping with Hope Arbor, please RSVP to Brooke Chambers at bchambers@iohumc.com.

Promotion Sunday and 2nd Grade Bibles
Join us on August 14th for Promotion Sunday! Bring your backpack and come to worship at 9:15am to receive a special blessing tag to start the new school year.
Rising 2nd graders will also receive Bibles at both worship services. (Register your child below so we have the correct name in the Bible!). Then join us right after worship for a special snack, introduction to our Children's Ministry volunteers, and a mind-blowing science experiment! Don't miss our kick-off that includes prizes for all kids who attend!

Sign-up for CORE Groups!
Our Student CORE Groups are small groups of students, 6th - 12th grades (separated by age and gender), that meet weekly on Sunday nights from 5-7pm. CORE Groups will begin September 11, and will include supper each week.

Tornado Relief Mission Trip
Monday, August 22nd, through Saturday, August 27th, we will be participating in a tornado relief trip to Mayfield, KY with other local churches. The cost for the trip is $100 (all inclusive). If you are interested in helping the churches and people affected by the December storm, please contact Shannon Baxter for information.
Expertise in construction/ repair is not required, but those with experience are definitely appreciated! Deadline to register is August 1st.
