Here's What's New at Isle of Hope:

You Asked for It

Have a Bible question you’ve always wondered about? Maybe there’s a passage that confuses you, a story that troubles you, or a question you’ve never felt comfortable asking in church.

You’re not alone. Throughout Scripture, God’s people asked honest questions and sought deeper understanding.

So, we’re inviting you to submit your questions – theological or practical, ancient or personal – for our fall sermon series, You Asked for It. We will choose several questions to explore through sermons this fall as we listen for God’s wisdom together.

Please submit your questions by this Sunday, July 12.

Front & Center

Our Ministry Center is getting full on Sundays, so we're asking for help to make sure we have space for everyone. Please try to sit toward the front of the room and the center of your row.

If we all practice sitting front and center in the Ministry Center, we will make room for visitors, latecomers, and families sitting together, while also ensuring everyone feels welcome in our service.

Good Dirt Week Two: How Faith Sustains Community

Sunday, July 12 at 10:30 am | Ministry Center

This Sunday is the second week of Good Dirt, our Adult Education Series focused on all things community.

Melanie is an educator, minister, published author, and advocate for the needs of children. In her 35+ year career, she has served in school administration, taught children aged 3-18 in both public and religious settings, and has served as the national leader of ministry with children for the UMC for 10 years.

We hope to see you there this Sunday for a delicious breakfast and what is sure to be a memorable talk!

Sing Glory to the Name of God:

A Hymn Festival with Tom Trenney

Sunday, August 2

Join us for a joyful afternoon of congregational singing as we welcome renowned musician Tom Trenney to lead a hymn festival filled with beloved tunes, creative interpretations, and vibrant musical offerings.

With combined choirs from across the community and the rich support of organ and instrumentalists, this service of song invites all to lift their voices in praise. As part of our yearlong celebration of our new organ, this festival highlights the instrument’s beauty and versatility, while celebrating the enduring power of hymnody as a shared expression of faith.

SGAUMC 2026 Annual Conference Report

From Lay Delegates, Lynn & Bill Hagan

We were a part of 400 United Methodists who gathered at Vineville United Methodist Church in Macon, GA, May 31st through June 2nd, for the 2026 South Georgia Annual Conference session. Under the leadership of Bishop Robin Dease, we met under the theme of “Unto the Least of These” to worship, conference, discern, and celebrate.

In a historic moment on Monday afternoon, the South Georgia Annual Conference voted by a margin of 96.6% to affirm the Georgia Unification Plan. The North Georgia Conference meets 6/18 – 6/20 to vote on this proposal.

In other business, the conference elected the South Georgia Delegation to the 2028 General and Jurisdictional Conferences.
