Here's What's New at Isle of Hope:

One & Done Choir

Sunday, October 4 at 8:30 AM | Choir Room

THIS Sunday will be a One & Done Choir Sunday! If you would like to join us, come to the choir room at 8:30 am on Sunday to learn an easy anthem to share in the 9:15 am worship service.

This is a great way to join the choir just for a day!

Make a Difference Day

Saturday, October 10

Make a Difference Day is one big day to step outside the walls of the church and serve our community together! On October 10, individuals and families can volunteer in the following ways:

  • Serve with the SonRise Servers

(7:45am - 9:30am outside Union Mission)

  • Sew hygiene kits with the Sassy Sowers

(10:00am - 12:30pm at IOHUMC)

  • Serve at Second Harvest Food Bank

(1:00pm - 3:00pm at Second Harvest)

More information about each opportunity will be sent to the registrants closer to the date.

Can’t serve that day? You can still make a difference! Purchase needed items from Union Mission’s Resource Center Amazon Wish List, or pick up an emergency food bag after worship on October 11 to keep in your car and share with a neighbor experiencing homelessness. Emergency food bags will remain available throughout the following week while supplies last.

There’s more than one way to make a difference—find the opportunity that works for you and join us in serving our community!

Mahjong for Missions

Thursday, October 15 at 6:00 PM | Ministry Center

Grab your mahjong friends - or come ready to make some new ones - and join us for Mahjong for Missions, a fun evening of open play benefitting our mission partner, the Christ Child's Nest!

Players of all skill levels are welcome, and there will be teaching tables available for beginners. There will also be table leaders throughout the evening to help keep play moving. Enjoy light food and drinks, try your luck with some great raffle items, and spend the evening playing for a great cause.

All funds raised will support the Christ Child's Nest, an orphanage in Guatemala overseen by two Catholic nuns who provide love and excellent care for almost 50 children currently living there - many of whom are differently-abled. Isle of Hope UMC is the primary source of funding for their daily living expenses.

Tomorrow is your LAST CHANCE to get a ticket for $50! Starting Friday, October 2, tickets will cost $60. The last day to register is Tuesday, October 13.

Thank You for Giving Blood!

Our September 14th blood drive collected 25 units of blood, surpassing our goal of 15 by 10 units! Even more encouraging, 27% of our donors gave blood for the first time. According to the American Red Cross, one blood donation can help save up to three lives, so the donations collected could help as many as 75 people.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and person who helped spread the word. Your generosity will make a difference for patients and families in need. Stay tuned for our next blood drive in the spring!

Rest & Resonance

Saturday, October 18 at 4:00 PM | Green House 211 (Note location change)

Step away from the noise and busyness of daily life and enter a space designed for rest, reflection, and renewal.

Through resonant sounds, gentle tones, moments of silence, and thoughtfully selected readings, participants will be invited to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with a sense of peace, wonder, and presence. This is not a concert, lecture, or worship service. Rather, it is an opportunity to rest, listen, and be present in a carefully curated environment of sound and stillness.
