Keep Our Sewer Drains Clean
Have you seen a storm sewer that looks
like the one in the picture
? That causes water to back up on the street when it rains. In Bloomfield, homeowners, business owners, and tenants are required to maintain the sidewalks and street gutters in front of their property so that stormwater can flow unobstructed to the storm drains.
The Bloomfield Environmental Commission wants to remind you that storm drains flow directly into rivers, so they need to be kept clear of trash and other debris. If you’d like more information about streets and sidewalks, please
see Township Code
Chapter 497 or attend their
next meeting on
Dec. 19, at 7:00pm in the Mayor’s Conference Room
on the second floor of the public safety building. All meetings are open to the public.
