At Dyed In The Wool you will find the most exquisite yarn in a plethora of brilliant color.

I would love to share my colorful world with you.

November, 2023

I really don't know where 2023 has gone. October is almost gone and the stores are already starting to put out their Christmas displays.....maybe that's one of the reasons. We haven't even had Halloween yet and the stores are getting ready for Christmas. Maybe the time hasn't flown by we are just being pushed from one holiday to the next.

At Dyed In The Wool we are getting ready to knit up some cozy wristers and cowls, scarves and hats, maybe a few headbands too! Now is when that lovely basket of Sequoia and the ReTreat will be depleted rather quickly. The superb Aran Tweed from Isager is knitting up beautifully for the Lambing Mitts. The ReTreat is beautiful in my This Becomes That and The Croft Aran and Wild are great for my simple scarf called Sidelines. I really love the Mohair Tweed for a lovely, scrunchy Boomerang.

This month there will be two, two hour Knit, Spin, Weave or Crochet Sessions on a couple of Saturdays and there will be a full day of KSWC on Black Friday. Perfect timing to get those projects finished and get down to some holiday knitting. If you are planning to attend the Saturday Sessions please remember to sign up and not just show up as they happen after closing and if there are no sign ups I will close and go home.

There are a couple of new yarns from Urth Yarns, they are wonderfully soft and in so many shades of colors. The yarn is called 16 and I love not just the texture but also the variety of colors it comes in. I am thinking about working it along with the other new yarn called Spiral Grain. They are both on the fingering/sport weight end and did I mention how soft and lovely they are. I think you can tell that I really like this yarn.

In the Mystery Box from Baah yarn there were some gorgeous shades of Shasta, which is a worsted weight. There were also some lovely skeins of La Jolla dyed with intentional pooling which makes it lovely for so many wonderful patterns like Pooling By The Pool and Enchanting Elegance. Dawn Barker also has some patterns that are great for working with this dyeing technique.

Don't forget that we are now opening on Wednesdays at 10am

There are many spectacular finished projects this month I am going to stop writing here and get to the pictures. These are worth more than all the words I could write.

If you haven't already joined the Ravelry Dyed In The Wool Group you might want to join as this is where I announce any weather delays or weather closures. I also use our Facebook page.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!

Barb selected Valley Tweed for her stunning sweater. Great workmanship. Barb also said that this yarn really softens up after it is washed but can be on the delicate side to knit.

Amazing work as always. You always turn out such beautiful and professional projects even those of you who haven't been knitting for long.

BAM is here

For those of you who prepare fleece for spinning I am so excited to tell you about BAM. Baruch makes these absolutely wonderful hackles and combs with magnetic tops that make them very safe. I also have a Fainting Maid which is a fabulous wool picker that has turned the fleece I washed into boxes of fluff ready for carding and it took so little time. These products are very well made in Kentucky with so much thoughtfulness in the design. We have hackles and combs in stock but I would encourage you to come in and try them.
