U.S. unemployment dropped to 6 percent. That’s certainly great news, but Delaware entered the pandemic with an unemployment rate in the mid-three-percent range, and we remain hopeful that number continues to drop. However, disruptive events like this force change and how much lower that number goes remains to be seen. The easiest things to automate or eliminate are the most simple or basic of tasks. That’s why reskilling and retraining will remain front and center here as we continue to work on solving the mismatch between available jobs and people seeking better opportunities.
