URMDAC welcomes four new members
Four new members attended their first Washington County Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee (URMDAC) meeting on Jan. 15.


  • Melissa Laird is a retired Intel employee with nearly 25 years of leadership and management experience. She is an active Oregon Humane Society volunteer, participating in dog transfers and rescues.

  • Richard Steinbrugge is retired from Beaverton School District and the Navy Civil Engineer Corps. He is a 20-year resident of Washington County and is a member of the Portland Public Schools Bond Advisory Committee.

  • Joe Wisniewski recently moved to Washington County from Michigan, where he worked for a county road agency in maintenance and engineering. He served on several Michigan County Road Association committees and chaired the County Engineers Workshop. 

The Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee (URMDAC) works with County staff and advises the Board of Commissioners on issues related to services provided by the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD).  See URMD Map

URMDAC meets 4-6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of most months at Walnut Street Center, 1400 SW Walnut St.   Learn more
COMMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Comment on draft equity resolution
A draft resolution in support of a multiyear initiative to advance racial equity and Washington County’s commitment to an inclusive culture is open for public comment.

The Board of Commissioners is asking for feedback to ensure that the resolution will be a meaningful and relevant guide to creating a more inclusive and equitable Washington County. To participate:

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Tigard to host transportation and technology presentation
“Smart Cities … Resistance is Futile, Transportation + Technology,” part of the Tigard on the Move speaker series, will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Symposium Coffee, 12345 SW Main St.

DLCD to host community conversations on state housing
Two community conversations to discuss Oregon's new housing initiatives are being hosted by Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD).

The events will be:



Both events will include discussions on House Bills 2001 and 2003, which focus on providing additional housing choices and increasing housing supply. Short presentations and table-level discussions will allow participants to share hopes and concerns regarding the legislation. More information Submit written comments

NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS
NOTE:   This information is provided here as a courtesy only.   Neighborhood meetings are required before developers submit certain land use applications to the County (for areas outside cities).These meetings provide a forum for the developer, affected CPO (Community Participation Organization) and nearby property owners to discuss the proposal informally. County staff do not schedule or attend these meetings.
