Week of 1/27/20
Interagency collaboration helps maintain operations
Thanks to great interagency collaboration, Washington County was able to continue to clean out culverts, despite a malfunctioning flush truck.

Clean Water Services (CWS) and the city of Forest Grove Public Works loaned equipment to Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) Operations and Maintenance Division (Ops) on an as-needed basis from Nov. 25 through Jan. 16. The Ops flush truck, used to unplug driveway culverts and cross culverts to prevent flooding and related issues, was down for repairs.

Ops, CWS and Forest Grove are among 23 agencies in the Cooperative Public Agencies of Washington County (CPAWC). The consortium focuses on public works equipment sharing and combined training opportunities.

“This is a great example of how agencies throughout our region work together,” said Todd Watkins, Division Manager. “CPAWC makes all of our public works agencies more effective and efficient.”
