It wouldn’t officially be fall in the Pacific Northwest without a little rain. In addition to flooding, heavy rains reduce driver's visibility. Be prepared and make smart choices:

  • Clear out storm drains and culverts to prevent flooding.
  • When driving, use headlights, slow down, increase following distance, signal early and watch for bicyclists and pedestrians
  • Do not move or drive around barricades. Never enter areas where water covers the roadway. Even a few inches of flowing water can sweep vehicles off the road. If there is flooding on the road - turn around, don't drown.

When encountering a road hazard, please report it:

  • If it's an emergency, call 911.
  • To report a road hazard by phone, call 503-846-ROAD (7623) during normal business hours or 503-629-0111 after hours.
  • To report a road hazard online, submit a road service request or send an email. Please note service requests submitted online are not monitored outside of normal business hours.
