BOB WARNOCK

FROM THE PRESIDENT

A slightly belated Happy New Year, one and all!

Your board has been busy planning our chapter year, and first up will be a gathering at Pilgrim Place in Claremont, on April 11, where several of our chapter members live. More information in this newsletter.

In addition, we are planning a backyard dinner party in August, date and location TBA. And, of course, we will have our annual Christmas luncheon gathering on the first Saturday in December at our usual spot, Majeres Mexican Restaurant in Pasadena.

My thanks to all of you who contributed to the Emergency Assistance Fund last fall. Hard on its heels, we will be having our 2026 appeal shortly to get us back in sync with the EAF fundraising cycle that we have been on historically, except for last year. If you are making a one-time gift each year, you can join me in making it earlier in 2026.

In the coming month or so, we will also be introducing two new chapter board members, one to fill the vacancy we’ve had since the untimely passing of our dear Patricia de Felice, and the other to fill the unexpired term of our secretary, Randy Bolsinger.

Randy must have missed a meeting of his homeowners’ association because he finds himself elected president of that body, which he tells us needs some shaping up. We thank Randy for his service these last few years.

I wish all of us YMCA Alumni members (and the rest of America) a better and less eventful year in 2026.

Bob
