BOB WARNOCK

FROM THE PRESIDENT

Well, our chapter has a local service project! Many thanks to Lyon Chapter members and several other Y Retirees from around the country who have joined Monica and me by contributing to the LA YMCA's disaster relief efforts.

I volunteered the use of my truck to pick up pallets of donated stuff from Home Depot and other businesses and brought them to the South Pasadena San Marino (now Crowell Family) YMCA, which is a major hub for gathering and distributing everything from blankets to water to food to toothpaste to those affected by the fire that destroyed much of Altadena.

Crowell YMCA Executive Director Jason Ramos, pictured with me and my supplies-laden truck, asked me to thank the Lyon chapter for our partnership in the YMCA's fire relief efforts. Today, I am extra proud to be your president.

BOB WARNOCK

IS NEW ALUMNI LIAISON

small version

The Lyon Chapter is proud to announce that our President, Bob Warnock, has accepted the position of liaison to the YMCA Emergency Fund (EAF) for YMCA Alumni.

EAF provides  immediate financial aid to Y staff and YMCA alumni members in need after natural disasters and other crises. As of October 9, EAF had awarded grants totaling $268,000 to 290 individuals impacted by Hurricane Helene across four states. With the aftermath of Milton, and the LA fires they  anticipate even more requests for help.

Our chapter continues to support EAF, and encourages our members who are able, to donate as well. Gifts can be made safely online by clicking the blue button below.  Y-USA and Y Retirement are matching donations up to $50,000
