MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEO

What an incredible month it's been at ECF! Our 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball was a huge success--full of fun, dancing, and generosity that will directly impact the lives of the students we serve. At our Kayne Eras School, the excitement is palpable as students just held their student council elections, stepping into leadership roles and making their voices heard. Across all our programs, everyone is embracing the change of season, gearing up for fall festivities, and looking forward to Halloween fun.

This time of year also reminds us of the joy in community and connection. From classrooms to workshops, our participants are exploring new skills, celebrating achievements, and sharing smiles that light up every space. Your support helps make these moments possible, and we are so grateful to have you with us on this journey.

Thank you,

Veronica Arteaga, LCSW

President & CEO

ECF and Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities Restore Mobility for Altadena Teen with $10,000 Custom Wheelchair After Fires

When the Eaton fires swept through Altadena, middle school student Xavier Young was doubly impacted, losing not only his home but also his school. On top of this, he lost his lifeline: a specialized wheelchair he depended on every day.

Thanks to the combined efforts of ECF and Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities (LATLC), Xavier recently received a brand-new, custom wheelchair valued at $10,000 to restore his mobility.

“The fires hit the special needs community especially hard. They lost vital equipment including specialized wheelchairs like this, that are essential for their mobility and independence,” said ECF Chief Development Officer Maxine Moshay. “We’re so happy to partner with LATLC to help provide this crucial support.”

STUDENTS ELECT KAYNE ERAS SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL LEADERSHIP

ECF Kayne Eras School recently announced the results of this year's Student Council elections. 12th Grader Jalen and 10th Grader Emily were elected President and Vice President and already are hard at work meeting and discussing priorities for the year. Congratulations Jaden and Emily and all the Kayne Eras School Student Council on your leadership achievement!
